Priority Pass updates app, implements digital membership card

The refreshed Priority Pass app offers clean, modern look and digital membership cards (click to enlarge)

From The Points Guy, Priority Pass has implemented digital membership cards via its updated mobile app. This is very welcome news! Previously, your physical membership card had to be presented at the welcome desk to gain access to a lounge. You should note, Priority Pass still recommends carrying your physical card as some lounges may not support the digital version. The new app is a very welcome update. The refreshed app offers a clean, modern look and layout. You will need to create an online account to access the digital membership card.

Because I don't fly very often, I do not carry the card with me. In fact, I have significantly minimized what I carry in my new slimline wallet. I only carry my latest points and reward credit cards and load most others into my iPhone digital wallet. I also have removed most of my loyalty and membership cards, opting either for the iPhone wallet, an app or providing my phone number to use these programs. During my trip to Chicago last month, I visited The Lounge at ATL and I had specifically put my Priority Pass membership card on my packing list so I did not leave it at home.

Priority Pass provides access to airport lounges operated by themselves as well as select airline lounges in some cities. The program includes over 850 lounges worldwide. Along with the additional lounges the program has recently added, Priority Pass is moving in the right direction by making member-friendly changes to the program. You can purchase a membership; alternatively, you can take advantage of several credit cards, such as the Citi Prestige Card I hold, to join Priority Pass for free. American Express Platinum, Platinum Business, and Mercedes-Benz Platinum include Priority Pass membership.
