Singapore Airlines new A380 suites: WOW!

Last week, Singapore Airlines held a media event to unveil new premium cabin products and services for new Airbus A380 aircraft that will be delivered later this year. While Debrian Travels doesn't quite have the readership to have been invited to the event, travel blogger extraordinaire Sam Chui was and his video covering the festivities and the new products is fantastic.

Based on Sam's video and the email that Singapore Airlines sent to KrisFlyer frequent flyer members, I am absolutely gobsmacked at the new suites class. The suites are absolutely mindblowing. The new suites appear to be very roomy with a 21-inch wide "arm chair" that swivels along with a bed that is approximately twin-size. Unlike many suites hard products, the seat does not convert into the bed but rather both the seat and the bed are available at the same time. While I have not flow Etihad's first class apartment, the new Singapore product appears to be significantly larger than Etihad's offering.  And the bathroom, while lacking the shower on competitors' A380s is over-the-top, unlike any airline lavatory I have seen. On top of Suites class, the A380s will get an updated business class cabin which allow two suites to be "combined" into essentially a full size bed. Though the business class seats aren't fully enclosed, they appear to be quite private.

While I would definitely love to fly in the new business cabin, I just can't get over the new suites. I won't attempt to review the product but I am including the photos released by the airline as well as Sam's video below. I don't know when I will be able to take a trip to Asia, but whenever I do, I will do everything I can to make the journey in Singapore Airlines' new A380 suites or business class!
